Description

WHY DELIVEROO

Our mission is to transform the way you shop and eat, bringing the neighbourhood to your door by connecting consumers, restaurants, shops and riders. We are transforming the way the world eats and shops by making access to food and products more convenient and enjoyable. We give people the opportunity to buy what they want, as they want it, when and where they want it.

We are a technology-driven company at the forefront of the most rapidly expanding industry in the world. We are still a small team, making a very large impact, and looking to answer some of the most interesting questions out there. We move fast, value autonomy and ownership, and we are always looking for new ideas.

THE TEAM

At Deliveroo France, Operations plays a key role in making sure our delivery network is reliable, efficient, and always available. We work closely with Commercial, Marketing, Product, Technology, and Consumer teams to deliver an outstanding experience for customers, riders, and restaurant partners.

As part of the Regional Operations team, we act as a centre of excellence for the French market. Our responsibilities include planning fleet size, managing logistics, optimising incentives, and supporting rider pricing to keep our operations running smoothly and sustainably.

THE ROLE

Running large-scale operations in a fast-paced and competitive environment is an exciting challenge. As an Operations Associate focused on France, you will help support the day-to-day running of our delivery network and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that drive efficiency and service quality.

Reporting to an Operations Manager, you will be involved in monitoring performance, analysing data, coordinating projects and collaborating with teams across the business. This is a great opportunity to build operational expertise and develop your skills in a dynamic, high-growth company.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Strategic Planning & Execution:

  • Develop and implement a consistent framework and set of playbooks for standardisation and stakeholder interactions (e.g. quarterly planning, incident escalation, commercial onboarding).

  • Oversee the development and execution of hyperlocal strategic plans tailored to your region.

  • Manage the operational budget for your region, ensuring sustainable growth and meeting operational and service KPIs.

  • Monitor and analyse key performance indicators, providing strategic plans at a hyperlocal level to achieve targets.

  • Leverage operational and commercial data to identify patterns, prioritise actions, and validate the impact of regional initiatives.

  • Establish best practices and cross-pollinate ways of working into other regions/markets.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with EU Operations teams, including Supply, Rider Pricing, Content, Engagement, and Network teams, to develop regional and national initiatives.

  • Treat regional Commercial teams as internal customers, providing operational excellence and rider supply expertise.

  • Support growth and enable commercial teams to thrive, ensuring an appropriate reporting and update cadence including performance overviews and emerging issues.

  • Act as a key connector between central strategy and local execution, ensuring market nuances are reflected in broader operational initiatives.

Subject Matter Expertise:

  • Act as a subject matter expert in specific business areas, driving greater cross-team collaboration and streamlining interactions with other teams, such as Product and Global teams.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in analytics applied to complex operational or logistics environments. A background in hybrid roles such as Strategy & Operations, Product Analytics, or Business Analyst — ideally within fast-growing companies

  • Strategic Thinking: Strong ability to frame problems, think strategically and execute plans effectively.

  • Strong analytical skills – ability to transform data into actionable insights : summarising complex data clearly and efficiently, visualising data appropriately to support decision-making, detecting meaningful anomalies in operational metrics, decomposing KPIs to identify root causes of change, distinguishing correlation from causation in operational trends

  • Technical Skills: Comfortable with data platforms, operational tooling, and acting as the Operations subject matter expert in both live projects and business-as-usual environments.

  • Collaboration: Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.

  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

PREFERRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED

  • Experience with forecasting and modelling.

  • Working knowledge of data visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker, Periscope). SQL is a plus.

  • Definitely a plus, spatial data analysis tools : QGIS, JOSM

BENEFITS AND DIVERSITY

At Deliveroo we know that people are the heart of the business and we prioritise their welfare. We offer a wide range of competitive benefits in areas including health, family, finance, community, convenience, growth, time away and relocation.

We embrace and celebrate the diversity of our people, regardless of gender, race, sexuality, religion, disability, age or any other part of your identity. All you need is a passion for (most) food and a desire to be part of one of the fastest growing startups in an incredibly exciting space.
